We are excited that Blueme founder, Mei Xu, became the first industry leader to join the Inaugural Symposium of the National Smell and Taste Center (NSTC) at the National Institute of Health (NIH).
Along with distinguished scientists and researchers such as Dr. Thomas Hummel of the University of Dresden Medical School in Germany, Professor Richard Doty, Director of the Smell and Taste Center at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Professor Sandeep Robert Datta of Harvard, and Co-Directors of NSTC Dr. Joshua Levy and Dr. Paule Joseph, Mei expressed the urgent need to leverage research on the human sense of smell to improve health and wellness.
Mei cited her experiences working with millions of consumers over the last three decades and how they demand 24-7 holistic wellness. As a pioneer in connecting functional fragrances with emotional, cognitive, and physical benefits, Mei provided a unique perspective to the participants of the event and offered new ideas on how the NSTC can become a driving force behind raising awareness of the power of smell and the implications of smell loss. Blueme is proud of her inclusions in this prestigious event and hopes we, as a brand, continually lead the effort in creating wellness through functional fragrances!
